EARN YOUR STRIPES
We offer the world’s first — and only — red teaming training and certification program. Our pioneering courses are based on the same curriculum and use the same methodology as the U.S. Army’s University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, which is widely regarded as the gold standard for red team training worldwide.
We have adapted the Army’s red team training program to meet the unique needs of business. The goal of our program is to equip our students with the knowledge and techniques they need to make critical and contrarian thinking part of the strategic planning process of their companies.
Our unique curriculum was developed by a team of business experts and military officers — including some of the same people who created the Army’s red team training program. And all of our instructors either teach at UFMCS or are themselves graduates of the Army’s red team training program.
How It Works
Our training program is designed to take students from raw red teaming recruits to certified red team leaders:
One Stripe: A first level red teamer understands the basics of red teaming and is able to function effectively as part of an organization’s in-house red team. They can conduct basic red teaming exercises, such as Four Ways of Seeing and Pre-Mortem Analysis.
Two Stripes: A second level red teamer has field experience and can play a valuable role in an organization’s in-house red team. They can conduct more advanced red teaming exercises, such as Alternative Futures Analysis and Being Your Own Worst Enemy.
Three Stripes: A third level red teamer is a seasoned veteran who understands how to use all of the techniques in the red teaming toolkit, including String of Pearls Analysis.
Red Team Leader: A red team leader is a certified red teaming facilitator who has mastered the art and science of alternative analysis and can effectively lead an in-house red team.
Master Red Team Leader: A master red team leader has earned all three of their stripes and their red team leader star. These individuals have not only mastered the tools and techniques of red teaming, but are also qualified to train others in the art and science of red teaming and are certified as such.
Our curriculum is designed to help you challenge your organization’s assumptions, expose hidden threats, identify missed opportunities, and stress-test its plans and strategies. These techniques will help you think differently about your business and see how customers, competitors and other key constituencies will react to moves you make in the marketplace before you make them. They will allow to turn disruptive events to your advantage.
You will learn these tools and techniques through a mix of theoretical instruction, guided reading and practical, hands-on learning. Each of our courses concludes with a comprehensive red team analysis of a real world strategy or plan, giving students a chance to practice what they have learned so they can return to their companies ready to begin red teaming.
Each of our courses build on the learnings of the previous class, giving students an opportunity to grow their red teaming skills and learn from each other’s real world experience. Those who complete the entire course of study will have gained mastery of the full panoply of red teaming tools and techniques, and will be qualified to lead red teams in organizations of any size in any country around the world. They will also be given an opportunity to become red team instructors themselves.
